In The Life of Pi, we are introduced to Pi Patel, a curious young boy. As he grows up, he starts exploring new things. He shows interest in many things, one of which was religion. Pi was born a Hindu but that didn’t stop him from becoming, a Christian and a Muslim as well. One-day Pi’s Father decided that they should sail to Canada to start a new life. On the cargo ship a huge storm rolled in causing the ship to sink taking most people’s lives including animals. Moments before the ship sank, someone threw Pi onto a lifeboat where he managed to survive leaving behind his perished family. When Pi finally stabilized on the vigorous current of the deep sea, he found himself on a lifeboat with a tiger, zebra, hyena and a monkey. He thought the animals were going to eat him some way or another but he managed to survive for a while as all the animals began eating each other first. Pi then found himself with only the tiger left on board. Strangely the tiger didn’t try to kill Pi right away so he made it his priority to feed the tiger before it decides to eat him. Pi gave himself tasks to follow so he can stay distracted. After 227 days on the lifeboat Pi survived and washed up on land. After he was rescued and was asked to explain what had happened to him and the ship. Pi told his story but no one believed it. So he told another one with the same concept but with humans instead of animals and people believed it.
